Coconut oil…..great for the body, not necessarily for the face

I love coconut oil.  It so great for so many things, for cooking, for eating, for teeth cleansing, for the skin….the skin on the body that is.  I use it all fall and winter for dry skin exposed to all of that indoor heat…on myself and for giving massages.  But coconut oil can be clogging for the facial skin.  The only people I have seen get away with it are those with super dry skin.  Otherwise oils that are safe for all facial skin types are jojoba and argon oil.  Jojoba actually mimics the skins own oils so it is very balancing for the moisture levels of the face.  It creates a nice moisture barrier without causing excess oil production.  Argon is a very light oil that has additional anti-aging properties that are great for those seeking to lessen the lines and wrinkles on their face.  Stay tuned for my next blog where I will discuss the benefits of using natural oils on the face in place of a creamy moisturizer.
